Teacher DIY gift on a budget & Kid Friendly

There are so many ideas out there for DIY gifts for teachers of all grades. If you have a child  in elementary school like I do, then you know how I feel when she say's "I want to "make" something for my teachers". She likes the idea of saying "I did that!" Honestly I like that idea too!!! Although it is easy and convenient for us to go and purchase something already made, it's not always cost friendly when you have 3 or more teachers to give to. So I like taking the crafty way out of it.  Although at times I have spent more money on crafting supplies. Well now after a lot of trial and error I want to  give you pointers on where to find semi cheap materials but that don't look to cheap, right?

I am a huge fan of the Dollar Tree! They have so many cute items for a $1.00!

Recently I shared a awesome candy bouquet idea that I did for a friend of mine. The cost wayyyyyyy less than the average candy bouquet that you see at a grocery store retailing at $40.00-$60.00!

Well let's not delay...

Everything you see in this picture is what I purchased to make these "mini" Christmas candy bouquets for 3 teachers. Total cost of everything you see here was $16.00 plus tax. So if you divide that up, I spent less than $6.00 on each teacher.  I still had some material left over. What you don't see is the green curly ribbon I decided to use after the fact, to cover the green floral foam that is used to insert the bamboo skewers.

Remember at the top ^ of my post when I said this is a kid friendly project? Well check it out my 9 year old daughter made this with a little guidance but mostly by herself. Here she is below showing you step-by-step do it your self picture tutorial....

This was actually an afterthought when I realized I didn't have a card to place in it. I went with a index card, cut it and added the design to look like a sheet of writing paper.

                                            The card was perfect!

WELL HERE YOU HAVE IT

THE final product?!
Here she is super proud of her teacher appreciation gift!!
